Caring companions provides a comprehensive assessment and individualized care plan delivered by professionals in their field. As an agency, we screen, hire, and train our employees. Sometimes families think they will save money by hiring a caregiver directly rather than going through an agency. When they hire someone directly, they become the employer and are fully responsible for their caregiver employee. Hiring a caregiver directly can sometimes save a few dollars in the short term but there are important considerations that people should be aware of before making this important decision. The most important is the quality of a care for your loved one.

Those who need help to age in place, at home, or who need extra care after moving into a facility. Caring companions offer specialized care for adults with chronic debilitating conditions. Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s ALS, and mental illness can compromise their ability to live safely in their homes – where they want to be. As the needs of this population grow more complex, especially when there is loss of memory or mobility, you search for meaningful and manageable solutions. As you understand the value of staying at home, the power of autonomy and the  importance of community to longevity and health, you seek a new model for elder care. All our caregivers are our employees.

All our caregivers and staff members undergo a rigorous screening that includes:driving records, sex offender registry and all form of criminal history (federal, state and local for misdemeanor and felony),social security validity, drug testing, and health screening, In addition,  we screen the caregiver for their experience level and problem solving skills, as well check their work references and provide excellent training for the caregiver and screen for those who have impeccable problem solving skills.

All employees of caring companions are bonded under our umbrella. However, not all companies have bonding and insurance for their caregiver employee.

Dementia care training, Parkinson’s common symptoms and best practices of care, mental illness in seniors and best practices for their care. We also train on specific medical needs and activities of daily living support (bathing, transfer, toileting), nutrition and cooking, customer serviced new standards in senior care.

After an initial assessment and evaluation of needs and desire, our client care coordinator meets personally with the client and family or friends as appropriate and determine what is the profile of the “ideal” caregiver for the client. We then choose two or three staff members who meet the chosen profile and place them on a trial basis.  If the client and all involved in the client’s care are satisfied with the match, we keep the caregivers at the client’s car to always have a relief person and bring variety and challenging activities as appropriate. The amount of caregivers will determine on the amount of hours each client has.

It depends on the type of services. Our personal care is individualized so the pricing is also tailored to your needs.

We accept private pay and long term care insurance.
